The Bangladesh Centre Leeds Ltd (BCL) aim is to provide education, training and community facilities for the welfare of the local communities here in Leeds and West Yorkshire.
The Bangladesh Community Education and Training Centre (now called Bangladesh Centre Leeds BCL) was set up in 1989 with the joint effort of the Leeds City Council and the members of the local Bangladeshi community with the aim of providing education, training and community facilities for the welfare of the local Bangladeshi community. Since its establishment, the City Council has been meeting the full financial costs of running the Centre.
BCL is governed by a elected management committee. The Committee includes a local resident and professional person which reflects the diverse background of the communality (teachers, local businesses, education officers).

We also make some of the rooms available for hire to various local groups such as: charities, community meetings, colleges, older people groups, drama and performance, and private functions. To find out more click here.
BCL Ltd is a registered charity (no. 1137465) and company limited by guarantee (no. 07137229) with no share capital. It is managed by a board of directors made up of people from the local Bangladeshi community who are elected every year and a number of volunteer.
